2 New Budget Smartphones from Microsoft - the Lumia 435 and Lumia 532
New from Microsoft are two great budget smartphones which join the ever increasing Lumia series of handsets. The Lumia 435 and 532 will soon be arriving in Europe as well as being rolled out across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Perfect for anyone looking for a good value and compact-sized smartphone, here's the lowdown on the Lumia 435 and the Lumia 532.
Both the Lumia 435 and 532 sport a vibrant 4-inch display with a screen resolution of 480 x 800 (233 ppi). Like all Lumia handsets, the new 435 and 532 smartphones come in a choice of vivid colours with interchangeable covers, choose from white, black, orange or green. The Lumia 435 is the cheaper of the two phones and is in fact the cheapest Lumia smartphone so it's going to appeal to anyone looking for value for their money.
The Lumia 435 has a sturdy design and features a rear-facing 2-megapixel camera as well as a smaller front-facing 0.3-megapixel camera. Microsoft smartphones have the added benefit of coming with some fantastic pre-installed services and the 435 boasts Skype, Microsoft Office and the OneDrive storage system. All photos you take on the Lumia 435 are automatically stored on cloud as well as on your handset.
Running on the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system (shortly to be upgraded to Windows 10), the Lumia 435 also has a useful notification centre, Live Folders and Microsoft's assistant Cortana. On the inside, there is a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a good sized 1560mAh battery which gives around 12 hours of talk time and there's also 8GB of expandable onboard memory.
Also sporting a 4-inch screen is the Microsoft Lumia 532 smartphone. The Lumia 532 is a step-up from the 435 and is also more powerful as it comes with a quad-core Snapdragon 200 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. The 532 also comes with the same battery as it's cheaper sibling so talk time, browsing and music playback is virtually the same. Similar to the Lumia 435, the 532 has 8GB of built-in storage which can be expanded up to 128GB with a memory card. On the camera front there is a 5-megapixel camera on the rear and a 0.3-megapixel VGA camera front-facing camera.
The Lumia 532 will be available in the same choice of colour options and also features Windows Phone 8.1 with Cortana, Skype and Office.
