5_apps_to_save_you_time_and_money_on_your_christmas_shoppingWe know it’s only November but here at Chitter Chatter we’re already thinking about Christmas and how we can help you get the most from your hard-earned cash when it comes to Christmas Shopping. There are already lots of great offers and bargains to be had online and in stores so it’s definitely worth getting organised in advance. Here are some of our favourite apps to minimise the stress and expense of the festive season.

Better Christmas List (iOS £1.49)

This comprehensive app is ideal for planning, budgeting and keeping track of Christmas lists and gifts. Not only can you set up multiple lists for your family, friends and anyone else who you buy for but you can also input how much you want to spend so you don’t have a big shock come January when the bills roll in. You can also send the lists to other people, see at a glance what presents you still need to buy and you can even keep a track of gifts you gave to people in previous years.

Amazon Mobile App (iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone - free)

One of our favourite apps if you’re looking for getting the best deals on your shopping. The Amazon Mobile App allows you to search for millions of products when you’re out and about. It’s handy for comparing prices when you’re in a store either by typing in the item or scanning barcodes to ensure you get value for money. The Wish List feature is also great as you can create your own lists to pass onto family and friends or just create your own so you can keep an eye on prices on the things you want to buy as they can change several times a day.

RedLaser (iOS, Android, Windows Phone – free)

Owned by eBay, RedLaser is another really good price comparison app which will definitely save you a few pennies and find you the best prices on goods. Simply scan the barcode of the product you want to buy when you’re in a shop and it will find and compare prices for the product on and offline. Once you’ve found the best price you can quickly place your order for it to be delivered to you or arrange collection in a local store.

TopCashback (iOS, Android – free)

If you haven’t already signed yourself up for a cashback app then what are you waiting for? Seriously if you purchase items online then it really is a must as you can be earning money pretty much every time you buy something! It’s also not just for online shopping but also for a lot of other things you organise online such as buying home, car or travel insurance policies, booking holidays and car hire, switching utility providers, taking out a new credit card etc. One of our favourites is TopCashback – just go via the TopCashback site and click on the link to take you to the retailer or company you want to buy items or set up a service from and it will advise the percentage of cashback you will earn once the transaction has been completed. You’ll be surprised at how quickly the money you can earn will stack up.

HotUKDeals (iOS, Android – free)

Essentially a great money saving app to save you some dosh over probably the most expensive time of the year. You can search for offers via a particular store name as well as finding the best deals available locally, discount voucher codes and even freebies! You can also set yourself up to receive notifications of discounts and special offers for a specific item you want to buy and share deals with other HotUKDeals users.
