All You Need to Know About the Brand New HTC One Mini 2
Following the success of the original HTC One and also the smaller HTC One Mini, HTC have just launched a mini version of the M8, the tongue-twistingly named HTC One Mini 2. We have all the info on the newest smartphone for you which is set to hit our stores next month.
HTC's new One Mini 2 handset has been designed along the same lines as the HTC One M8, - it's just scaled down in terms of size and technical specifications. Weighing in at 137 grams compared to the M8's 160 grams, it's not quite as slim at 10.6mm but it's the ideal size to fit into your hand or pocket. The One Mini 2 has the same curvy aluminium back as the M8 and it will also be manufactured in the same 3 choice of colours which are gunmetal grey, glacial silver and amber gold. Other than a border made from plastic around the screen, the HTC One Mini 2 really does look like the M8.
The display on the One Mini 2 is half an inch smaller than the M8 at 4.5 inches. The HD IPS screen has a resolution of 720p (326ppi) and the One Mini 2 boasts some decent camera specs with a single 13-megapixel camera complete with LED flash on the rear and a front-facing 5-megapixel snapper. Like the M8, the HTC One Mini 2 can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second and it comes with the usual HTC camera software. Also on the front of the handset are HTC's brilliant BoomSound speakers which are the same ones used on the M8 so the sound quality for a mini smartphone is simply superb.
The HTC One Mini 2 also runs on Android KitKat 4.4 together with the HTC Sense 6 user interface which features BlinkFeed. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2GHz processor with a Cortex A7 chip are more than adequate and it also comes with 1GB of RAM. Storage-wise, there's 16GB of built-in memory which can be expanded up to 128GB with a MicroSD card. The 2100mAh battery provides up to 16 hours of 3G talk time.
Look out for great deals on the HTC One Mini 2 in our stores and online, available in June.
