blackberry_a10The latest news from BlackBerry thanks to a ‘leaked’ memo is that there appears to be a new mobile phone under development called the BlackBerry A10. It’s certainly generating quite a bit of interest so we take a look at what we expect the new handset to feature.

With indications that it could be BlackBerry’s new flagship mobile (a position currently held by the Z10) which may be available by the Autumn of this year, the A10 is expected to be BlackBerry’s largest and most powerful handset so far. According to the memo leaked online (which may or may not be genuine), the A10’s screen is predicted to be a 5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and 295 pixels per inch. It will also feature 24-bit colour and will boast a powerful 2800 mAh integrated battery.

Some in the know also anticipate that BlackBerry will be pushing the A10’s gaming capabilities - the increased screen size and battery power would certainly be a bonus as BlackBerry aim to compete with some of the larger handsets on the market.

The A10 will run on the new BlackBerry 10.2 operating system and is rumoured to have an impressive Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.7GHz processor. Memory wise, the A10 will come with 16GB of internal memory expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card and will have 2GB of RAM. It will also be 4G compatible, have the usual NFC and is expected to be a svelte 9.4mm thick.

The BlackBerry A10 rear camera is said to be an 8-megapixel model with built-in flash, image stabilisation and 5X zoom. The front camera will also have 5X zoom and will be 2-megapixels in size.
