Apple Launches New iPhones, Watch and Apple TV
After all the speculation, Apple launched new products yesterday from the Steve Jobs Theatre at it's new headquarters building. Three new versions of the iPhone were announced with a new 4K Apple TV and the Apple Watch 3. Here's all you need to know about these exciting new devices.
Apple's new leading phone will be the iPhone X (pronounced 10). It has an all-new edge to edge design featuring a 5.8 inch OLED panel with Super Retina display which supports HDR. As rumoured, there is no home button and the phone is opened using a 3D facial scanning system called Face ID. The phone is powered by an A11 Bionic chip, the first chip designed by Apple themselves and is expected to deliver greater power and speed for applications such as augmented reality. There are better cameras with dual 12 megapixel cameras on the back with dual image stabilisation and an improved front camera. The battery life is predicted to last two hours long than the iPhone 7.
The iPhone X will come in space grey and silver and come in 64GB and 256GB versions.
iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
Wireless charging is a feature for the new glass-back iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, as well as the iPhone X. These phones are an upgrade to the iPhone 7 and feature the more powerful A11 Bionic processor, upgraded cameras and True Tone display. The iPhone 8 has a 4.4 inch display with the Plus version measuring 5.5 inches.
Apple Watch 3
The new Apple watch 3 comes in two versions one with GPS and one with an additional cellular connection, which means you can make calls or send texts without a phone. The connected version will be exclusively available on the EE network in the UK. The watch has a faster chip and longer battery life and comes with enhanced health tracking features, including an updated heart rate app.
Apple TV 4K
The Apple TV box has been upgraded to support 4K and HDR with Netflix and Amazon Prime mentioned as providing high resolution content for the new device. Films and TV from the iTunes store will come in 4K and HDR for the same price as HD with no charge to upgrade titles you already have.
The iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will all be available to pre-order from Chitter Chatter on Friday 15th September. You can register your interest here and we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest info.
