Similar to the Nokia Lumia 630, the brand new Lumia 635 is also a budget smartphone offering some superb specifications at a very good price. The two smartphones are also very similar in the specs and features they offer with a few key differences between the handsets. The Lumia 635, which we’re very excited to be stocking at Chitter Chatter, will also be 4G compatible so if you’re looking for a great value 4G smartphone its definitely worth checking this handset out.
The Lumia 635 comes complete with Cat3 4G mobile internet which means it’s capable of downloading an impressive 12.5MB per second which equates to a download speed which is 10 times faster than standard broadband speeds you may get at home. The 635 is very similar in design to the Lumia 630 but one way to tell them apart is the cover as the Lumia 635 has a gloss finish compared to the matt cover on the 630.
The Lumia 635 comes in 5 different colours -black, white, bright orange, bright green and bright yellow. There’s a 4.5-inch IPS LCD 16M colour touchscreen with ClearBlack display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The screen resolution is great for a screen of this size at 218 pixels per inch (480 x 854 pixels).
Under the cover is a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of built-in memory storage. If you need additional memory space, the Lumia 635 will take a MicroSD card with a maximum of 128GB of storage. The 7GB of cloud storage could also come in handy. The battery is also a decent size for a compact smartphone, it’s 1830mAh in size which is more than enough for a good 14 hours of talk time and several days worth of music play back time.
The Lumia 635 has one 5-megapixel camera on the rear which comes with a 4 x zoom, video recording at 720p, autofocus, panorama and some great Nokia camera software for filters and special effects.
Software-wise, the 635 also benefits from the new and improved Windows Phone 8.1 software which features Word Flow (very fast predictive text where you swipe the screen to form the words) and a new notification centre called Action Centre which you just swipe up from anywhere on your handset to find all your texts, emails and notifications in one place. In addition Windows Phone 8.1 has a virtual PA feature called Cortana which is a voice activated assistant who can make and take calls and search for information.
All in all, a very decent package for the price. Check out our unbeatable deals on the Nokia Lumia 635 here.
