It's been another exciting week for Samsung with a raft of new smartphones set to be launched in the coming months. First up is the unveiling of the Galaxy Grand Prime as well as details on two new handsets which will be part of Samsung's new A series, the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is a budget handset with some respectable specs. It comes with a 5-inch 540 x 960 screen, an 8-megapixel camera on the rear complete with autofocus and an LED flash and an impressive 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking great selfies. The Grand Prime is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor and features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage which can be expanded up to 64GB with the help of the MicroSD slot. It also boasts a large 2600mAh battery which could easily power two days worth of average smartphone use. Available in white only, the Grand Prime will be released in India initially before being launched in other countries.

Also in the news in the last week were leaked reports concerning two Samsung smartphones which are likely to feature in Samsung's A series of handsets. The Galaxy A5 is expected to be a mid range mobile phone which is made of aluminium (like the Alpha) which will sport a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED screen, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a new 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor together with 2GB of RAM. Other features are rumoured to be a 5-megapixel camera on the front, 16GB of expandable storage and a 2300mAh battery.

Details on the Galaxy A3 are a bit sketchy at the moment but it's anticipated to be smaller than the A5, also with an aluminium square-edged design. There is no information on screen size although it's thought that it could be a similar size to Samsung's Galaxy Alpha smartphone.
