Nokia Lumia 920 Review

The stylish Nokia Lumia 920 is the latest of Nokia’s upmarket smartphones and is available in 5 different colours including bright red and a vibrant shade of yellow. Powered by Microsoft’s new Windows 8 operating system, the Nokia 920 boasts a Qualcomm dual core processor, a generous 4.5 inch screen size and a state-of-the-art PureView camera.

The bigger screen size means that the Nokia 920 is slightly bigger and heavier than the average smartphone, however it shares a similar design to the Nokia 800 with a curved screen and robust casing. Showcasing an impressive hi-res (768 x 1280 pixels) and HD screen, the 920 claims to have a significantly faster and brighter screen than its closest competitors and is ideal for super sharp images and animation thanks to its PureMotion HD+ technology. The screen is brilliantly sensitive to touch and can easily be operated even when you’re wearing your thickest ski gloves. The anti-glare screen is also designed to adjust its brightness and colour contrast to suit all lighting conditions.

The touch screen design uses Live Tiles which can be customised into a choice of sizes and navigation is straightforward and very easy. Sporting Nokia’s superb ‘People Hub’ app, communication by text, email and social media is ultra-simple with all your contacts and means of contacting people held in the same place.

The Windows Phone 8 operating system makes working on the move so much easier with its range of versatile Microsoft products including Outlook, Office Suite, Excel, Word and Power Point. The Nokia 920 is programmed with a selection of popular Nokia apps such as Nokia Maps, City Lens & Nokia Drive. Mobile phone keyboard devotees will be pleased to learn that the Lumia 920 features an excellent built-in keyboard with the usual word prediction functionality.

Connectable via EE’s new 4G network as well as by Wifi, NFC, DLNA, Bluetooth & GPS, the Nokia 920 offers 32GB of storage space as well as 7GB of free storage on SjyDrive cloud should you need it. There is no option on this model to expand the memory with a microSD slot.

One of the Nokia Lumia 920’s most appealing feature is the fantastic PureView camera technology. The cutting-edge ‘floating lens’ camera stability makes picture taking so much easier and produces clear and sharp images as well as high-quality video footage. There is also a second camera on the front of the handset for video calls and conferences.

All in all, the Nokia Lumia 920 is a great contemporary piece of kit which is sure to be in demand thanks to its sleek design, Windows 8 operating system and superb camera functionality. Check out our latest deals and offers on the Nokia 920 here.
