As the festive season gets into full swing, there are plenty of new apps which would make great stocking fillers. Here are some of our favourites for this month:

Fantastical

This superb iPhone App is receiving great reviews. Only £1.49 from Flexibits, Fantastical is a super-efficient calendar app and comes complete with a ‘Day Ticker’ of your daily appointments, voice dictation and works with Google Calendar and iCloud.

FxCamera

Now available for the iPhone, FxCamera has proved to be a big hit with Android users and boasts some great features, camera and lens effects and is perfect for uploading your images onto the social networks. You can even upload your images onto Facebook with a voice recording.

Fodor’s City Guide Apps

Available for both the iPhone and iPad, these informative apps are ideal for city breaks and holidays. Similar to the book versions, the Fodor City Guide apps are packed with must-see attractions, things to do and information on hotels, restaurants, bars and nightlife. Destinations currently available include London, Paris, New York and Barcelona.

Aston Martin One-77 Special

If you’re into cars or Bond, this special Top Gear digital mag iPad app is all about the new Aston Martin million-pound-plus car. Featuring everything you could possibly need to know about the design, engine and interior as well as beautiful photos to drool over, we’re buying some lottery tickets as we speak.

Winnie the Pooh Wonder and Wander

Perfect for keeping little ones entertained, this colourful Disney iPhone and iPad app has lots of interactive activities to play as you explore the locations made famous in the Winnie the Pooh books. There’s also colouring for budding little artists.

Foodster

Need some inspiration in the kitchen? This nifty Android cooking app is home to thousands of recipes, helps you to organise your food shopping lists and can suggest recipes depending on what ingredients you currently have in your kitchen cupboards.

Shopaholics beware! Online shopping retailer Fab have just realised their new Android app. An incredible 50% of its business is currently done online via mobile phones and this is likely to increase further once you see their super stylish shopping app.

EA Daily Deals

Gaming fans will no doubt find this Electronic Arts Android app pretty useful with Christmas approaching. An android version of their popular ‘Daily Deals’ site, find the best discounts on EA’s mobile games and stick them on your Christmas list.

ReferenceME

Perfect for Students, Lecturers and Academics, this rather clever Android app can scan the barcodes on books to create bibliographies and citations for essays and dissertations. You can even choose from a selection of referencing styles for your masterpiece.

Squeebles Maths Bingo

A great maths Android app for kids which is fun as well as educational. They can have fun solving maths puzzles in a bingo style game (which includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) which helps Ruby to earn ingredients for her ice cream parlour.
