Here are 5 of our favourite Summer Holiday related apps.

TripAdvisor - Free (Android, iOS)

You would have had to be living a caveman type of existence to have not heard of TripAdvisor. Many of you have no doubt used it online but if you haven't yet downloaded the TripAdvisor app it's worth it for the mine of information and reviews it offers. TripAdvisor is probably best known for its hotel reviews but it's also perfect for checking out local visitor attractions at your destination and for helping you decide which ones are best suited to you and your family.

Triposo - Free (Android, iOS)

Triposo is a great app for all sorts of travel and holiday information. As well as offering free downloadable travel guides to various destinations, it's also really useful if you haven't yet booked a holiday and are looking for some inspiration on where to go. Packed full of great information such as country travel guides, recommended attractions, shops, restaurants and nightlife. It has handy maps, directions, information on how to contact restaurants, hotels etc as well as reviews, a currency converter and some phrases in local languages which could come in useful. A great all-rounder.

Travel List - £1.49 iOS

If you like to make sure you're organised in advance and you don't forget anything vital to your holiday then Travel List is definitely the app for you. Instead of making endless lists on scrappy bits of paper for every single trip you do when you go away then how about embracing some simple technology which makes organising your packing so much easier. As well as creating your very own customised list of all those essentials and travel documents you need to take, you can use Travel List to set up alerts at specific times to ensure anything which needs to be done in advance is done in plenty of time.

A brilliant app for keeping all your holiday plans and schedules in one place. Whether you're doing an epic bit of touring, going backpacking for a long stretch or just doing a City Break for few days, this great app can keep all the details of your flights, accommodation, tours and even planned trips to museums and visitor attractions all together to create a comprehensive itinerary. You can also add in a restaurant bookings and keep an eye on the weather forecast and there's the option of sharing your itinerary with loved ones so they know where you are.
