Bugs Count Pocket ID Guide (iOS, Android - Free)

This free bug app has a dual purpose. Created on behalf of the Natural History Museum, it has lots of information to aid with identification of common bugs found in gardens and green spaces throughout the UK. With more than 26,000 types of plants, shrubs, and trees, the app is popular with professional gardeners and landscapers thanks to its in-depth information and advice. The app features great search functionality so you can find plants according to various criteria such as sunlight exposure, flowering times, average height and width and growth rate.

RHS Grow Your Own (iOS - free)

Written by the RHS gardening experts, the app helps you to choose fruit and veg to grow in your garden according to your gardening experience, available space and rather handily the time you have available. Ideal for those who are looking for easy to grow crops and don't have hours to dedicate to tending their plants. It's also provides tips on any problems you may encounter and specific varieties of recommended crops.
