Our 5 Favourite Party Apps
Before you know it party season will be upon us whether you’re planning on throwing a party for Halloween, Bonfire Night or already thinking about (dare we say it) Christmas. As with most things in life, there are some great apps to make the planning and party go off with a bang. Here are 5 of our favourites.
Pro Party Planner (iOS £2.99)
If you’re throwing a big bash or an important event like a wedding, you might want to consider the Pro Party Planner app. Ideal for events which require a fair bit of organising and planning in advance, Pro Party Planner is a rather efficient party planning database where you can keep a record of your guest list, their contact details, whether they can make it or not and their dietary requirements. You can also use it to plan and keep track of your budget, set up a schedule so you can check you’re on track and share the app with another user such as your party-planning buddy for a small additional fee.
Kara’s Party Ideas (iOS, Android £1.49)
If you’ve got little ones and you’re bored with the usual soft-play parties, this app by Party Planner specialist Kara Allen is ideal for inspiration. Based on Kara’s website of the same name, there is a whole host of clever themed party suggestions for kids of all ages and there’s also info on getting hold of decorations and merchandise so you have the perfect accessories. As well as kid’s parties, there are also some great ideas for weddings, baby showers, hen parties and christenings.
Karaoke Anywhere (iOS, Android - Free)
Who needs to hire an expensive Karaoke machine when you can download an app which does the job for you? This fun and free app is full of popular tracks and works in a similar way to a normal Karaoke machine. You can connect up to a TV so the lyrics are easier to see and you can also record the singing to playback later. You get 200 tracks with the free app or you can subscribe for £6.99 a year for unlimited streaming or there’s even an option to pay per track.
Djay (iOS £6.99)
If Karaoke isn’t your thing, then how about something a bit more sophisticated. Djay turns your iPad into some clever looking twin DJ decks. All you need to do is load up your music from your iPad library and then you can look like a pro DJ with various DJ effects including mixing, scratching and cross-fading amongst a whole load of other features. You can also pre-record your mixes in advance so you can get on the dance floor with your friends.
Mixologist (iOS, Android – FREE)
This fun app is packed with cocktail recipes and ideas for alcoholic drinks and shots. Whether you’re looking to make some cocktail classics or are searching for concoctions which can be made with the contents of your booze cupboard, there’s plenty of drink ideas for your guests to sample. If you’re brave you might want to try making the cocktail which comes up when you hit the ‘random’ button.
