HTC Desire 816 ReviewIf you're looking for a smartphone with a bigger screen, lots of great features and at a brilliant price then the HTC Desire 816 offers all of that and a whole lot more. Sound interesting? Then read on for our full HTC Desire 816 review.

The first thing to note is that the HTC Desire 816 is no slouch in the looks department. It sports a polycarbonate high gloss design with rounded corners and is not unlike the iPhone 5C. It comes in a range of colour options which include white, black, grey, blue, green and red and despite its large screen it's still pretty slim and light measuring 8mm and weighing 165g.

The 5.5-inch Super LCD2 displays has 267ppi (720 x 1280) and offers good clarity and sharpness, vibrant colours, excellent viewing angles and performs well in strong sunlight. The large screen is perfect for movie watching and gaming. A very welcome feature on the Desire 816 is the dual stereo BoomSound speakers which are also found on the HTC One and One M8.

HTC have also included some very decent camera technology on the 816. Like the HTC One Mini, the 816 comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the rear with an LED flash and a great 5-megapixel camera located on the front. The rear camera features an f/2.2 aperture and 28mm lens and has HDR and Panorama modes and can capture video in Full HD 1080p. The front-facing camera has the same video recording capabilities and it comes with an f/2.0 wide angle lens, timer and software so you can touch-up your selfies so you appear with glowing skin and with no red-eye in sight.

The HTC Desire 816 runs on the latest Android KitKat 4.4.2 operating system and also features HTC's new Sense 6 UI with the new and improved BinkFeed which now includes customisable new feeds, as well as your social media notifications and calendar appointments.

The 816 is powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor together with 1.5GB of RAM. The 8GB of built-in memory can also be increased significantly up to a maximum of 128GB with the use of a microSD card. It also comes with a decent 2600mAh battery which will easily give you enough power for a day of average use.
