Our Sony Xperia Z3+ Review
The Sony Xperia Z3+ smartphone is very similar in looks and design to the original Xperia Z3 however it's slimmer, lighter and more powerful. However, the Z3+ boasts the same stunning 5.2-inch IPS full HD triluminos display as well as a 20.7 megapixel camera on the rear. The Z3+, like is predecessor, is also scratch resistant and water and dust resistant (IP68 certified) up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes.
There are upgrades though. The 3GB of RAM has remained the same but the onboard storage has been increased for some markets up to 32GB which is expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card. The battery in the Z3+ is slightly smaller, 2930mAh compared to 3100mAh with both handsets featuring faster battery charging, however it has a more powerful processor in the new octa-core Snapdragon 810 which is a step up from the Snapdragon 801 in the Xperia Z3. As a result of the upgraded and ultra efficient processor, the new Xperia Z3+ offers around 17 hours of talk time on 3G.
The front-facing camera on the brand new Xperia Z3+ has been upgraded to a 5-megapixel camera and it also features the Superior Auto Mode that the camera on the rear offers. The Z3+ will come with Android Lollipop 5.0 operating system out of the box and will be available in the UK over the next few weeks. There are 4 choices of colour which are Black, White, Aqua Green and Copper.
