samsung_galaxy_a7_white_officialThis week Samsung officially announced the latest and largest handset in their A-series, the Samsung Galaxy A7. Samsung's A-series of smartphones offer beautifully designed and high specification smartphones at a price below their premium S series of handsets. Here's all you need to know on the Samsung Galaxy A7.

The Galaxy A7 sports a stylish, lightweight and super slim design with a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD screen with a screen resolution of 267 pixels per inch (which is comparable to the iPhone 6 Plus.) Weighing in at 141 grams and a super slim 6.3mm in depth, the A7 will be available in a choice of white, gold or dark blue and is expected to be in stores in the next few months.

Powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM, the A7 will run on Android KitKat 4.4.4 initially which can be upgraded to Lollipop 5.0. The Samsung Galaxy A7 will include a more than adequate 16GB of built-in memory which can be increased up to a maximum of 64GB with the use of a microSD card. As you would expect from a larger handset, the battery is also a good size with a 2600mAh battery on board. The A7 also offers great connectivity options as it features LTE and NFC.

Camera-wise, the A7 comes with an excellent 13-megapixel camera on the rear with the usual autofocus and LED flash and modes such as face detection and panorama. On the front, selfie fans are sure to be delighted with the great quality 5-megapixel camera.

If the Galaxy S range is a little pricey for you and you're looking for a premium but more reasonably priced Android handset, then the A7 looks like a good alternative. We'll let you know more on pricing and availability as we have it.
