We compare the S22 series models to help you choose which one is right for you.

Samsung have announced the launch of its new Galaxy S22 line-up with the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra. These phones all feature upgrades to both the technology and camera, as well as stylish additions to the design. The most exciting reveal is the all-new Nightography camera that will light your snaps perfectly every time.

Let's go through the three new mobiles and cover everything you need to know when it comes to the Galaxy S22 series and how the three models compare.

Samsung Galaxy S22

The screen of the S22 device measures 6.1 inches and features FHD+ resolution. With all three devices, you will find Vision Booster technology to make the display in low-light situations even crisper than previous models. This will also make using your phone in bright light easier, as Vision Booster eliminates that nasty glare from the sun.

If you use your phone for scrolling through a lot of social media or playing games then good news, the Galaxy S22 has an impressive 120Hz refresh rate.

Moving on to the all-important design of the phone, the S22 boasts a fresh change from previous models. The entire S22 range now has both a glass front and back, giving them an expensive and premium finish with a bonus of added protection. The phones are made with Gorilla Glass Victus+, the first of the Samsung range to feature it. This glass is designed to hold up against drops and scratches even better than previous models. The phones are also well protected against water damage with an IP68 rating for water resistance - not that Chitter Chatter ever recommend dunking your phone in liquid, but it's good to know the protection is there in case of an accident.

When it comes to colour you have a range to choose from with your new Galaxy S22. This version is available in Phantom Black, Phantom White and two brand new colours, Green or Pink Gold.

Now for the real show-stopping addition to this new range of phones, the camera advancements. The Galaxy S22 boasts a massive 50MP wide-angle lens as well as the ability to switch to the 12MP ultra-wide lens for those big group shots. The Nightography camera we mentioned earlier comes as a huge upgrade to tone down that lens flare, leaving you with perfect pics every single time. All three devices come equipped 5G ready, plus 8GB of RAM and two storage options of either 128GB or 256GB. The Galaxy S22 officially launches on 11th March and is available from Chitter Chatter SIM Free or on a Pay Monthly Network Contract.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus

The real difference between the S22 and the S22 Plus is the display and therefore body size. You will find the screen coming in bigger at 6.6 inches compared to 6.1" on the S22. It therefore weighs slightly more too at 195g vs 167g.  Besides that, it boasts all of the camera and aesthetic upgrades of the S22.

The actual screen tech on the S22 Plus is the same as the S22 so you get a bigger display but slightly few pixels per inch (393 ppi vs 425 ppi). Our opinion - you're not going to really notice much difference in resolution quality, so if you'd prefer the bigger display the Plus model has, then opt for that one.

The Galaxy S22 Plus will also be launched on the 11th March and again, can be purchased SIM Free or on a Pay Monthly Network Contract.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

This is the biggest and most premium of the three models when it comes to features, size and price.  The S22 Ultra provides a much larger display than the S22 and S22 Plus devices, with a huge 6.8-inch display and increased QHD+ resolution for the display.

This phone also comes with more choice of colour, with the additional unique option of Burgundy.

The S22 Ultra shines when it comes to the quad-lens rear camera, with a giant 108MP wide-angle lens to capture every detail of your photographs - if you want the best possible camera available on a Samsung phone, then the Ultra is the one to pick.  The front selfie camera on the Ultra is also an improvement versus the S22 and S22 Plus, with a 40 megapixel lens.

This model is also the logical upgrade for fans of the Galaxy Note series, as the design is similar and the phone includes the popular S-Pen stylus which fits nicely inside the phone body with a satisfying click.

The S22 Ultra launches on 25th February and is available at Chitter Chatter.

Conclusion

The Ultra has by far the best specifications out of all three devices as you'd expect, but of course you pay for those extras, so choose the features that are important to you to decide whether it's worth the extra cash.  All three phones are substantial improvements on the previous generations of the S9, S10 and S20 series.

You'll find all models at Chitter Chatter, available SIM Free or on a Pay Monthly Mobile Contract.
