It’s certainly been a busy and exciting few days at this year’s Mobile World Convention. As we predicted Sony have unveiled their latest flagship phone the Xperia Z2. The Z2 will be hitting stores in the next few weeks so let’s take a look at what Sony’s newest smartphone has to offer.
Sony’s Xperia Z1, successor to the hugely successful Xperia Z1, is jam packed with great specs and excellent features. Dubbed as the ‘world’s most powerful waterproof smartphone’, the Z2 builds on the specs of the Z1 with an improved display, sound, camera, video recording and entertainment.
Firmly at the premium end of the smartphone scale, the Xperia Z2 also looks sleek and expensive with a slimmer 8.2mm body and an aluminium and glass streamlined design. The Z2 has also been designed to keep up with the demands of a busy lifestyle and is both waterproof (IP58 certified) and dust resistant.
The Xperia Z2 comes with an impressive 5.2-inch 1080p Full HD Triluminos display which Sony have advised is their brightest and most vivid display so far. It’s also the world’s first smartphone to feature digital noise-cancelling technology for superb smartphone audio sound quality reducing up to 98% of background noise when you use the in-ear noise-cancelling headset.
Sony have also used their camera expertise to full effect with the Z2 as it’s crammed with great features and software. The 20.7-megapixel rear mounted camera comes with an award winning ‘G Lens’, a CMOS image sensor and is capable of capturing video in 4k resolution which is four times more detailed than full high definition. There’s also a selection of new camera apps which feature on the Xperia Z2 which include Timeshift video, SteadyShot image stabilisation, an Augmented Reality effect and a new Movie Creator for editing your videos.
The Z2 also gives you access to some great entertainment from the word go including exclusive content and blockbuster movies from Sony Pictures. The Z2 provides you with some great built-in entertainment apps such as ‘Walkman’ with over 25 million songs and thousands of films, PlayStation and TrackID TV.
As you would expect from a high-end smartphone, the Z2 also boasts some impressive hardware with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor featuring an Adreno 330 GPU for top quality graphics and gaming. It’s also powered by a massive 3200mAh battery for which gives you a decent amount of usage between charges which can be extended further with the Battery Stamina Mode.
