The HTC One 2 - What to Expect
It's been a year since HTC launched their acclaimed HTC One handset which wowed both consumers and the mobile phone industry alike. And now the waiting is almost over for the One's successor, as the HTC One 2 is expected to be unveiled in the next few weeks. So what are we likely to see from HTC's shiny new flagship phone?
The very latest reports and leaked images that we've seen indicate that the design of the HTC One 2 will share similar styling to the HTC One. It too is thought to be made from premium brushed aluminium with a curvy shape to its rear. However we could apparently see a second camera sensor located on the back of the handset in addition to the main Ultrapixel camera. It's also anticipated that the new smartphone will come with an improved dual-LED flash compared to the single flash on the One.
Another expected design change is the replacement of the soft-key buttons on the front of the phone with on-screen controls. It's thought that this has been done so that HTC can increase the size of the screen on the HTC One 2 without having to significantly increase the size of the actual handset. The original HTC One featured a 4.7-inch Super LCD3 touchscreen, the screen on the new HTC One 2 could be around 5-inches in size with an edge-to-edge display. We also expect to see the HTC One 2 feature the innovative BoomSound speakers which were very popular on its predecessor.
It's likely that the HTC One 2 will come ready with Android KitKat 4.4 and with HTC's upgraded Sense UI user interface. The new smartphone could also include the latest Snapdragon processor, the 805 model, and we're expecting to see a more powerful battery such as a 2,900mAh. It's not known that the inbuilt storage will be as yet but the HTC One 2 could feature a microSD slot so it can be expanded up to 64GB.
There's still plenty of speculation surrounding the HTC One 2 so watch this space for updates as we get them.
