The HTC One M9 - Rumour Round Up
We're on a countdown to one of the biggest events in the mobile phone world, Mobile World Congress (MWC) which will be held between the 2nd and 5th March in Barcelona. There are always lots of rumours and speculation in the build up to MWC but interestingly HTC could beat other mobile phone manufacturers to it if the speculation is true that they are planning on unveiling their latest flagship smartphone on the 1st March.
There is still a bit of debate as to what the new HTC smartphone will actually be called, it could be known as the HTC One M9 or it could be the HTC Hima so until we know otherwise, we're going to refer to it as the HTC One M9. Here's a round-up of the latest rumours.
Some of the latest leaks show images of the so called HTC One M9 and it looks like HTC will be staying with their aluminium, unibody design and the BoomSound speakers on the front are very much evident.
The M9 looks a bit more angular in shape than its predecessor the HTC One M8 and it appears that there is now a single camera on the rear which is rumoured to be a 20.7-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilisation. We could also see a very decent camera on the front, if reports of a 13-megapixel front-facing camera turn out to be true.
There is conflicting speculation on the size of the display, some reports indicate that the M9 will feature a 5-inch display whilst others claim that the screen could be as big as 5.5-inches. Its therefore hard to tell what screen resolution we can expect, an 1080p panel or as much as 1440p or even something in between the two.
However there is more consensus on the processor with most of the speculation pointing to a brand shiny and new 64-bit Snapdragon 810 quad-core processor with a respectable 3GB of RAM. The M9 is also likely to run on the latest Android Lollipop 5.0 operating system. It's likely that we'll see 32GB of expandable internal storage on the HTC One M9 which can be increased up to 128GB with the use of a microSD card.
As soon as we have more information on the forthcoming HTC One M9 we will let you know so keep an eye on our blog for the latest news.
