The HTC One Mini - Our Review
The original HTC One mobile phone has proved to be extremely popular with rave reviews from both customers and those techy geeks in the mobile phone industry. It’s also currently in third place in the list of the most popular smartphones in the USA selling well over 1 million handsets a month. Inspired by the success of the HTC One, HTC have just launched a scaled down version - the HTC One Mini. Here’s the lowdown on the new mini version which should be hitting our stores this summer.
If you’re looking for a handset which is more pocket-friendly both in terms of size and price, then the HTC One Mini offers both. Similar in styling and looks to its larger sibling, the HTC One Mini shares many of the same features but it’s more compact and certainly easier to use in a one-handed way.
It’s narrower, slimmer and lighter than the HTC One but keeps the robust metal alloy frame and comes with a 4.3-inch Gorilla Glass 3 display, a resolution of 720 x 1280 and a pixel density of 341ppi. The superLCD2 screen provides sharp and colourful images and video and it boasts the acclaimed HTC BoomSound dual front speakers with HTC’s innovative sound technology.
The HTC One Mini runs off the latest version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with HTC’s Sense 5 User Interface (UI). Like the HTC One it comes with HTC BlinkFeed which keeps your home screen constantly up to date with the latest news, sport, social media posts and whatever else you choose to customise it with. It also features HTC Zoe which makes your own personalised 30-second mini movie with your best photos and video.
The 4-megapixel ultra pixel rear facing camera has a super fast sensor so you can get some great continuously shot pictures and it also comes with adjustable light exposures and smart flash which has 5 different automatic flash levels. The rear camera also features 1080p Full HD HDR video recording and the front 1.6-megapixel camera comes with720p video recording.
The HTC One Mini is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core 1.4GHz processor and has 16GB of onboard storage and 1GB of RAM. The 1800mAh battery provides over 13 hours of talk time on 3G, although the handset is also fully 4G enabled.
