4-inch-iphone-6Exciting news for fans of the 4-inch iPhones (i.e. iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C) as there are rumours that Apple are working on a new version of the iPhone 6 with a 4-inch screen. There's been speculation for a while that Apple will soon be discontinuing their budget iPhone 5C but there's no word on whether a 4-inch iPhone 6 would be aimed at the more price conscious end of the market or if it would just be a smaller version of the original premium iPhone 6. The iPhone has certainly taken the British smartphone market by storm with iPhones making up almost 40 per cent of UK smartphone sales. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 has proved to be particularly popular accounting for 80 per cent of iPhone 6 sales and almost 10 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets were sold in the first 3 days of their launch. It's not known when the rumoured smaller iPhone 6 could be launched but we'll keep you up to date with the latest news on our blog.

There were also recent leaks concerning the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6. Not to be left behind, the internet has also been buzzing with news regarding Sony and another new flagship handset thought to be the Sony Xperia Z4. There had been rumours circulating that Sony were going for a large 5.5-inch display however the latest speculation indicates that the Z4 is more likely to feature a 5.2-inch QHD display. Other specs we could see on the Z4 are a top of the range processor such as a Snapdragon 805 CPU or even the Snapdragon 810 and 3GB of RAM. The premium smartphone is thought to come with a new Sony 21-megapixel camera on the rear and we could see the Xperia Z4 unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show which will be held in Las Vegas in a few weeks time.

And finally, it's always interesting to see what apps top the chart at the end of this year and Apple have just released details of their best selling apps for 2014. It probably comes as no surprise to see that Minecraft has topped both the iPhone and iPad app charts with Football Manager Handheld 2014 and Cut the Rope 2 featuring in the 10 top for both devices. Candy Crush Saga continues to be the highest grossing app followed by Game of War (Fire Age) and Farm Heroes Saga. Monument Valley may not have appeared the top 10 but it's beautiful design meant that it was chosen as Apple's editorial app of 2014.
