This Week's Chitter Chatter - a 2-Screen Phone from Samsung, the Blackberry Classic and the $999 App
We could be seeing another dual-screen flip phone from Korean mobile phone manufacturers Samsung. A handset, so far known as the Samsung SM-W2015, has been listed on a well known benchmarking site which details specifications from what looks to be an exciting new smartphone.
It's thought that the new two screen smartphone will boast and inner and outer screen both measuring 4.6-inches and with a decent screen resolution of 1280 x 768. There's speculation that it will come with a decent 16-megapixel rear camera as well as a 2-megapixel camera on the front and will be powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM. Other features are likely to be 16GB of onboard storage and NFC capabilities. We'll bring you more details on the SM-W2015 as soon as have them.
BlackBerry have already launched the Blackberry Passport this week, but that's not the only phone Blackberry will be launching before Christmas - the BlackBerry Classic will be arriving soon too. As the name suggests the BB Classic is likely to be a huge hit with any fans of the original BB mobile phones thanks to its traditional QWERTY keyboard and compact design. The Classic will come with a 3.5-inch LCD display and features an aluminium and polycarbonate frame and an 8-megapixel camera on the rear. Inside it will feature a Snapdragon 1.5GHz S4 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 2515mAh battery.
Leaked reports have been appearing online concerning rumours that Microsoft might be launching their very own Microsoft branded Windows smartphone. Images have surfaced of a mobile phone purporting to be the Microsoft handset in question which seem to show a large slimline smartphone which has a different design to the recent Lumia handsets, in particular the location of the microphone and camera. There's speculation that Microsoft are keen to get rid of the Nokia brand perhaps by the end of 2014 and could instead call their new brand of smartphones Windows Phone or maybe simply 'Windows'. All will become clear over the next few months so watch this space for the latest.
Wow we're quite used to paying the odd £2.99 for an app and we'll even stretch up to a tenner for a decent one but there's a new app in the iTunes store which is priced at an eye-watering $999! Previously super expensive apps have been available for businesses and important professional exams so a $999 app for an admittedly very upscale app called VizzyWig has created quite a stir. VizzyWig is an impressive app which enables you to capture rather stunning 4k resolution images together with synched audio. Up to 24 photos are shot per second alongside the audio which gives a different effect to just recording video. If you don't fancy shelling out $999, VizzyWig also has a much more affordable photo editing suite app for a mere $30 which may be more out style.
