As we get closer to the expected launch date for the iPhone 6, the rumours and leaks are certainly gathering pace. Up until recently it was widely thought that Apple's new flagship handset would make its debut sometime in August or September but it's been reported in the last week that the iPhone 6 and the rumoured iWatch may in fact both be hitting stores in October.

There's also speculation that the iPhone 6 could feature a QHD display (possibly 2560 x 1440, similar to LG's G3) and it will also come with a NFC chip which will enable wireless payments (although we heard that rumour for previous iPhones), faster LTE (category 6) with the capability to offer download speeds of up to 300Mbps and it will have wireless charging.

Talking of new phone, it looks like Samsung have been dropping some hints concerning their next Galaxy Note smartphone, the Galaxy Note 4. On their website is a profile for an as yet unannounced new smartphone which appears to be the specs for the latest handset in their Note series. We could see a quad HD display on the Note 4 with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and it's expected that it will come with a 5.7-inch screen. Other possible features include a 16-megapixel camera and a Snapdragon 805 quad-core 2.7GHz processor (that's fast!) Keep an eye on our blog for the latest on the Galaxy Note 4.

And yet more new phones! According to the media Sony are planning on launching 3 new smartphones which they are currently working on. The three new handsets have some interesting codenames - Leo, Aries and Pegasus. It's thought that Leo could be the Xperia Z3, Sony's next flagship smartphone. It's rumoured that it could feature a Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM and will be slimmer than the Xperia Z2. The handset codenamed Aries is likely to be a compact Xperia smartphone, possibly the Xperia Z2 Compact. There are conflicting reports on what Sony device is codenamed Pegasus, rumours include a variation on the Z3 such as a Z3 Ultra phablet smartphone or a new tablet or even a smartphone to succeed the Xperia M2 possibly called the M3. Watch this space for more on these forthcoming smartphones as soon as we have more news.

Let's finish with a bit of smartwatch news - or at least, a new gadget that can transform a normal wristwatch into a smartwatch. The lightweight aluminium device called 'Glance' attaches onto the strap of your watch and boasts many of the features you would expect from a smartwatch. Compatible with Android and iOS smartphones, Glance has 3 modes which give you notifications from your mobile phone, activity and fitness tracking and it can also be used as a motion controller for your smart TV or computer. The Canadian developers behind Glance are currently raising funds through Kickstarter and it is expected to be available in October for about £40
