iphone6-plus-specs-hero-2014Exciting news for iPhone fans as we could be seeing the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus make their debut in less than a month. Speculation is building that Apple will launch the two new handsets on Wednesday 9th September. Apple traditionally choose September to release their latest iPhones and there are rumours that they will also unveil a couple of brand new iPads and the new Apple TV. It's a safe bet that Apple's latest operating system iOS9 will also launch at the same time as the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus and reports indicate that we could see the rumoured iPad Pro which is thought to have a large 12.9-inch display.

Whilst we're on the subject of Apple, we may as well bring you up to date on the rumours regarding the iPhone 6C. Speculation on the matter has been pretty low key of late but there have been several reports in the last week that Apple do in fact have plans to manufacture them. It's thought that the 6C will be released in the Spring of 2016 and that it will feature a 4-inch display which will delight those who prefer a more compact iPhone. It's been a while since Apple brought out the colourful iPhone 5C, in fact it's been almost 2 years as it was launched back in September 2013. As a result of the delay to the iPhone 6C, we could see an upgrade in the expected specs with reports suggesting that Apple will use their new A9 chip instead of the A8 chip which is featured in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. We'll keep you updated on iPhone 6C news as we get it.

More news on upcoming smartphones now, as images of a new Microsoft Lumia smartphone have been leaked online. The photos are thought to be of a prototype of Microsoft's new flagship smartphone the Lumia 950. The Lumia 950 Windows Phone is expected to come with a 5.2-inch display and a powerful 20-megapixel rear facing PureView camera. The premium smartphone is likely to be powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor and will come with 3GB of RAM. With Windows 10 Mobile set to be launched in the Autumn, it would make sense for the new Lumia 950 to make its debut around the same time. As well as the 5.2-inch Lumia 950 smartphone, Microsoft are also likely to launch a larger 950XL handset with a 5.7-inch screen.

And finally, if you thought you'd seen the last of flip phones then think again - as LG have just launched the Wine Smart. It's been a while since flip phones have been in demand in the UK but apparently in certain parts of the world they continue to be very popular. The LG Wine Smart is a budget handset which will be launched in certain countries including Spain, Italy, France, Poland and Japan. It features a 3.2-inch touchscreen as well as a physical keyboard and a 3.2-megapixel camera. On the inside there's a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of built-in storage which can be expanded with a microSD card. Despite the fairly modest specs, the LG Wine Smart runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 and boasts 4G connectivity. There's no word on whether we're likely to see it roll-out to the UK.
