Sony_Xperia_Z_TabletThe Apple rumour mill has been in overdrive this week with expectations of up to 3 new iPhone devices being unveiled later this year.

As well as the budget model we wrote about recently and the widely anticipated iPhone 5S, there has been quite a buzz about a second 4.8-inch 'phablet' which has been referred to as the ‘iPhone Math’ and will rival Samsung's Note handsets. The word is that the 'Math' will be available at the end of 2013 going into 2014. Watch this space for news as we have it!

Just as Apple are rumoured to be launching a 'Phablet' Samsung are launching a Fonblet - the Samsung Galaxy Fonblet 5.8, so nicknamed due to its large 5.8-inch display.

Bigger than the Samsung Note 2, the Fonblet is expected to be released in Europe soon and is likely to run on Android Jelly Bean although the exact version is yet to be confirmed, it will also pack in dual-SIM support.

Also from Samsung, the buzz around the new Galaxy S4 is building up. Thought to be due for release sometime this Spring, there are few confirmed details on the S4 at present but this certainly isn’t stopping the speculation around Samsung’s latest smartphone.

The latest we’ve got is that we reckon it will be released in April and will feature a larger screen than the S3 with much improved resolution. We think it will run on Android 4.2.1 and will feature a 13-megapixel camera with a live HDR video-mode. As usual, we’ll keep you updated with all the latest on both new Samsung devices.

In the run up to the ‘Mobile World Congress’ event which will be held next month in Barcelona, Sony have revealed details of their brand new Superthin tablet which will be, for the time being at least, the thinnest tablet of its type. The Sony Xperia Z measures just 6.9mm in depth and is therefore slightly thinner than the iPad Mini. It will feature an impressive 10.1-inch screen. The Xperia Z also weighs in as the lightest tablet for its size at a fraction under 500g and also has the benefit of being water and dust resistant.

Also sharing the same protective technology is Sony’s new Xperia Z Smartphone which comes complete with a 5-inch HD screen, one-touch connectivity, a 13-megapixel camera and 4G. One of its most impressive selling points is that it will come already loaded with Movie, Walkman and Album apps with a choice of 100,000 films and 18 million music tracks.

One of the latest trends in musical headgear is SleepPhones. Whether you want to listen to music in bed without disturbing your partner, listen to relaxing tracks to get you off to sleep in the first place or block out noise from traffic or snoring, these fun headphones have been especially designed so you can nod off and carry on sleeping without painful speakers or ear buds digging into the sides of your head. The design looks a bit like a sweatband but instead the fabric is fleecy and there are thin removable speakers inside which can be adjusted into the right position. The SleepPhones are compatible with most music devices such as phones, MP3 players, iPods, CD players and laptops; they come in a range of sizes for a snug fit and have a 1.2m cord with a stereo plug which can be velcroed up for safety. Definitely worth a try for some R&R!
